Prenatal (pregnancy) chiropractors are trained to assess moms’ pelvic, sacral, and soft tissue alignment in order to restore correct movement patterns, and allow mom to experience ease in her pregnancy.
The most common reasons a pregnant mom will come to our practice are:
- She is experiencing discomfort
- She is concerned about the position of her baby
- She desires to be proactive and prevent possible discomforts that can arise in pregnancy
- She understands the benefits of regular chiropractic care for her overall health and wellbeing
Chiropractic is a holistic approach to health, meaning: we are trained to assess the whole person, not just the area of pain or the symptom. This approach leads us to uncovering the underlying cause or dysfunction that is creating the discomfort.
For the majority of our pregnant patients, the underlying dysfunction relates to compensatory movement patterns in their hips, pelvis, and/or their spine. In other words – a subtle misalignment which changes the way their body moves and creates tension within their body.
The purpose of prenatal chiropractic is to support a mother during a time of major physical and physiological change. My role as your prenatal chiropractor is to guide your body into optimal balance through gentle adjustments and soft tissue work (restoring balance to supporting muscles, ligaments, and fascia).
